$50 Initiation Fee Is Being Waived! --
Our president, Alan Perris, has made it easier for us to offer PPB memberships to friends and colleagues who want to join. From now through October 31, new members will only pay the $55 annual dues; PPB is waiving the usual $50 initiation fee! This is the time to bring in new members and save them some money. And remember, we are still maintaining the eligibility requirement for at least 10 years (not necessarily consecutive) of professional service in Radio, Television or in a related field of Entertainment. This means not only announcers, actors and engineers, but singers, producers. directors, writers, musicians, administrators, etc. are all eligible to join. Sponsors of new members will be acknowledged in our Newsletter. To get a membership application form, click on "Join PPB" in the left column of this page.
Luncheon Pictures Available --
Pictures taken at the last luncheon are now available on this Website. To view them, click on the orange Details link under Al Michaels above. On the "Last Luncheon" page that opens, scroll down to see a picture of the luncheon dais members, and then click on >>>Additional Photos<<< above that picture, which will open a new page with eight additional photos and captions.
Our photographer, Roxanne Shorbach, invites you to see all 108 pictures she took. They are on her Website at www.canongirl.com . Once there, at the top of the screen click on “Events.” You will be asked for a password, which is 1234. You’ll see the Al Michaels album on the next page at top left. Click on that to open the album, then use the right arrow in the first picture to start a slide show, or select individual pictures from the small images below. You can download any picture to your computer by right clicking it and selecting “Save picture as.”
We Have A Facebook Page! -- JOHN NEWTON has set up a PPB Facebook page and invites all PPBers to join. The page already has over 100 followers and we're hoping for many more. To join the fun, go to www.facebook.com and search for “Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters.” After joining the group, post some of your favorite career stories and pictures.
Other Broadcasting-Related Websites -- If you scroll to the bottom of any page on this Website, you will find the word LINKS. Clicking on that word takes you to a page of URL links to other Websites related to the broadcasting industry. Some of them take you to sites where you can listen to old time radio programs. We've recently added the link to a comprehensive history of television, which you'll find listed five down from the top of the Links page. Click on "Beyond Cable: The History of Television."
Newsletter Items --
Members, if you have an item you'd like to share with other members through the PPB Newsletter, please e-mail it to Bianca Pino. Alternatively, you can drop it in the mail to PPB Newsletter, Post Office Box 8673, Calabasas, CA 91372. The Newsletter is distributed with our luncheon announcements five times a year and is available on this Website by clicking on "Latest Newsletter" at the bottom of this page.

You can do that by clicking on this link: Alan Perris to send an e-mail directly to our President. Please be sure to include your name as e-mail addresses don't always provide that information. Your concerns or suggestions will be discussed at the next Board meeting.

If you do not see a yellow envelope icon next to your name, we don't have your email address. Please send your address to us by going to the top of the name list and clicking on the yellow "Update." Your email address will not be seen or shared.
